The tiles of the "soshuu" mahjong set are indented across the face, so when you build the wall it will be more stable.
The Soshuu set is the highest quality Japanese mahjong set available today.
* The tile faces are subtly indented.
* The centre of each of the coins and the names of each season tile are highlighted in gold.
* The wind tile faces are designed in a thick-brush compact style.
The slight concave curvature of the tile face means that the upper row of tiles will sit snugly on the lower row on the wall. Also, the tiles are a real pleasure to handle. As you draw a tile from the wall, the tile face fits neatly into the pad of the thumb. The curature of the tile faces gives them an added elegance when lined up in your hand.
The tiles are made to Japanese specifications, with NO ARABIC NUMERALS. The set comes complete with Yakitori tesserae, scoring tallies and chips, wind marker and dice and is housed in a smart, sturdy box-style presentation case with handle and robust snap-shut clips.
